I am 12 years old and have never done work like this before so I tried it for mothers day. I found it hard to follow the instructions, a few more photos would have been handy. These look very beautiful and i would have loved to make one but i found it a little too hard.
I forgot to say that me and my dad tried and got up to 16 and i cant get passed it!
I am 11 and i tried to make this rose for my mom for mother’s day,but i found the instructions starting to get hard around 15. More detailed instructions would really help. I really wanted to make one but i guess i’ll go to another website and make one……
My mom is dead from old age and she really wanted a paper rose for Mother’s Day in her coffin. I am her only surviving child and so I wanted to make her this gift and place it with her body as she watched down on me from heaven. However, I couldn’t understand the instructions after about 17 or 18 and I now hold a piece of “crepe” paper in my hand. Wadded up into a little ball at least I know she still loves me for my efforts. Thanks for nothing Chan Lee Peng.

If I can do it, you also can do it. But why you can’t? Because you think it’s hard to do.
If you want something to be made extraordinary, you’ll have to challenge yourself to get it, unless you want something plain and simple, then that’s another story.
Excellent thing is always hard to get, right? Just like you want to score A+ in your exam you’ll have to work hard besides investing your time.

Chan spent a lot of time and inserted a lot of photos trying to make this as clear as possible, but it seems to be a somewhat complex project.
Alan, I believe your mother is smiling from heaven, her heart bursting with love and pride as she watches your attempts. She knows how much you love her and is fully aware of your frustrations, which indicates your love and effort all the more. Try looking at the video and see if it is not clearer for you. We all learn in different methods. If not make her a home made card. She could not love you any more than she already does. Your heart felt motives are clear to her.

IT WAS REALLY AWESOME MAKING THAT FLOWER AND IT CAME OUT SO BEAUTIFUL AND IT ALMOST LOOKS LIKE A REALLY REAL ROSE BUT INSTEAD U MADE IT WITH PAPER. I ALSO HOPE THAT U HAVE FUN MAKING THIS PAPER ROSE AND ALSO SHOW UR PARENT, GARDIANS, AND ALSO U COULD SHARE IT WITH FRIENDS ALSO SO HAVE FUN PEOPLE.

a lot of you cant finish making the rose becaue you say its too hard. its not chan’s fault. James, there are SOOO many types of roses; i tink the reason you chose this website in the 1st place is because you liked the way this rose looks. you chose to want to make THIS rose, so these are the instructions. Alan, it seems like your blaming chan for your mothers situation. if she loves you soo much, anything you do should be enough.
you guys want easy? go to the flower store and buy roses. easy as it can get
After step 27, this tutorial really falls apart. Sad, as the end product looks so good, but it references arrows that are not there, and reduces what appears to be 3 or 4 steps into one “huh?” step.

first off from step 29 to step 30 do you fold all 4 sides as in steps 27-29 because thats what it appears to do
second off in steps 28 and 29 you can’t fold the paper how it shows in the pictures without the paper tearing.
omg these steps are almost worthless the further you get into it wish he would have done a better job ivespent 4 hours and only got to step 29 this is rediculous no one can understand this!

I was stuck on the same steps as a lot of people for a LONG time. But I stuck with it and found it was a lot easier to turn the paper over and make it look like it does in step 26 right away. It came together much easier that way.

Thanks a lot for the step-by-step guide. It took a long time, but I’m actually able to make paper roses now. It’s true there are some points where the guide fails though.
It took me forever to realize that you have to push the square down to get it to fold up like that in Step 16. Also Step 24 would have been a lot easier if you told us to flip over the rose and fold on the pre-creases following the contours of the triange-corner things. Step 29 could have been clarified a little; it took me forever to realize the fold that was done there. And to whoever said Step 31 is “retarded,” it’s pretty crucial. If you don’t fold along the crease line then your rose will look messed up.
Overall though, the best guide the internet has to offer. Really, everywhere else you look on how to make these roses is horrible. I followed every step listed here, and the end result is amazing. This is definitely the most helpful guide there is – trust me I looked through them all.

I spent 4 hours on step 28 and still couldn’t understand.. It is obviously not the same flowers in the 2 pictures.. The inner trapezoid suddenly becomes a triangle.. if you follow the steps it’s impossible to do it at all.. Thanks Chan Lee Peng for the magic course..

It took me ages of bending and interpreting the instructions, and was about to give up after reading the anger of many readers who also got stuck on step 30. However, since you were able to do it, and some lucky readers, I proceeded to go on ^^ And guess what – I’ve managed it!
I must admit my first rose is a little bit messy, but it looks so beautiful I am very proud of it. : D Some clarifications in the instructions would probably help, but they are brilliant the way they are, and it is quite a difficult thing to make so I guess readers will have to think a bit for themselves in order to get to the final result.
