Safety Tips for Schoolchildren

Secure your children’s safety wherever they are.

These days, you can’t take anything for granted. Here are some tips to make sure your kids are safe – in school or anywhere else.

  • Always travel in pairs or groups
  • Do not use short cuts through lonely areas
  • Make sure your parents get to know your friends’ parents
  • Do not accept anything, gifts or lifts, from strangers
  • If a stranger or a strange vehicle approaches you, keep walking or run if you have to
  • If you see a suspicious person loitering near the school or at the entrance, inform your teacher
  • Do not play in the street while waiting for your transport alone
  • If you travel by bus, wait for it to stop before you get on or off
  • Wait in line to get on the school bus. Do not push.

These are great safety tips. I have a confession though, when I was in primary school, I used to engage in shortcuts but more like ‘long-cuts’…. its an adventure thing. Now, I’m a bit worried if one of my kids will venture onto this too. Could be dangerous, the world has changed so much.
